Our clients, the owners of a late 1960’s town centre shopping precinct, bought and demolished a neighbouring food retail unit for redevelopment. The new terrace whilst simple in plan form had to respond to a number of site constraints.

These included the decommissioning of a petrol filling station, the phasing of works to provide continuous trade for existing tenants including the use of the customer car park, the relocation of the outdoor market and the architectural integration of the new with the old.

The terrace was designed on a 2,500 sq ft bay format to provide maximum long term flexibility with the largest single clear span at 51 metres.
