gallery image
Description:

This new, state of the art primary school was constructed on the site of the existing St. Edmunds R.C. Primary School which had reached the end of its useful life. The new school also accommodated pupils from two other local primary schools, subject to closure, St. Joseph’s and Our Lady and Lancashire Martyr’s, to form a new purpose built 1.5 FE facility.

The building combines the latest I.T. and computer installations and incorporates external balconied teaching areas that are accessed directly from each class base, via folding glazed screens. The school also benefits from another innovative design feature, a roof top ecology garden.

Location: Little Hulton, Salford
Client: The Governors of St. Edmunds R.C. Primary School
