St. Willibrord’s R.C. Church

Description:

Our brief called for the construction of a ‘Parish Room’ which could be used for a variety of parish activities, both, directly associated with the church through worship and organised independently.

The church was large enough to accommodate such a facility and we designed a new oak framed glazed screen with antique leaded lights, in keeping with the existing church’s grandiloquent interior.

In response to a brief to accommodate flexible use, the new Parish Room had its own independent heating, lighting, kitchen and toilet facilities and could, when congregation numbers in the church increased at Christmas, Easter and other feast days, be opened up to form ‘over flow’ seating with good visual and acoustic contact with the sanctuary.

Location: Clayton, Manchester
Client: Salford RC Diocesan Trustees Registered
